I've always heard how much these books were loved. I have a friend that loves the books and quite a few relatives who think they are unbelievable. My great uncle had a spare copy of each book except for the first two, so I decided I'd buy the first two so could get started and see what all the fuss was about. I literally read the first book in 2 days. I know it's a small book, but it was so well written. J.K Rowling is one of those few authors that don't just describe the main characters and locations, she's an author that describes EVERY character, and EVERY location with great great detail! I loved this book, and I'm now in the process of reading the second one!

As J.K. Rowling's first book, for the harry potter series. It is really gripping, everything about it makes you want to know more, the character's, there lives, the story. It could almost be real, a secret wizard world where nobody has a clue. If you love the beginning of Harry Potter's adventure then make sure you read the other 6 books in the series, and see the film's.

This is, and will remain one of the best books I have ever read. Right from the start you are interested and do not want to put the book down. You remain like this all through the novel. It starts out as an oridnary boy bullied by people, and it ends with him being a real-life wizard. Every person on the earth should have read this series, and if you haven't, do it ASAP.

I was in year 6, age 10 when I first encoutered Harry Potter. It was read to the whole class by our teacher Mrs Cross and I thought it was amazing. Following Harry on his adventure as he learns all about the wizarding world that he is from. Meeting all the characters: Albus Dumbledore the wise headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry, Hagrid the loveable gameskeeper, Ron Weasley soon to become Harrys' best friend & Draco Malfoy soon to become Harrys' enemy. I have lost count now at the age of 20 how many times i have read this book. I am not ashamed to say I still enjoy it as much as I did when I first heard it. I couldn't wait for each new book to join Harry once again at Hogwarts.

The first in the series and it's absolutely spell-binding. This book is written to perfection from start to finish and is a MUST READ. Once you have read this book you will be hooked on Harry Potter I guarentee it. J.K Rowling's first book and it's already a classic. Buy it :-)
