  Rubbish

Nothing good to say about this. My inner feminist was mortally offended. Grey creepy and jealous, Ana just plain stupid. In my mind a Goddess should be worshiped not possessed. Can only fill impressionable minds with nonsense that an arrogant, possessive, jealous man is loving, not dangerous. As for the mucky bits, who really cares! Won't be reading the rest.

I held off reading this for a while, as wasn't sure that this genre was for me but after so much hype gave it a try - wasn't disappointed, read cover to cover in 16hrs and couldn't put it down - went and bought the next two and finished them in a day a piece - the story is addictive and E.L.James draws you into this world of the enigmatic Mr Grey.
Yes there is a lot of sex, yes its very descriptive and detailed, so if easily offended/embarrassed then this book maybe isn't for you.
There is a story line and although it not complex it'll keep you hanging in there for the three books, without you feeling short changed.
The characters, can get slightly annoying and are at times slightly unbelievable but you don't read fiction for its relation to reality!!
You mainly get to know the two main characters, Ana and Mr Grey and there's enough to their personalities to make you want to get to know them and dig a little deeper into their histories.
Enjoyed this and interested to see what E.L.James writes next !!

  Not for me

I really don't understand the rave reviews!! I read the book because of all the 'hype' and have to say I found it boring and disturbing. I am so shocked that modern women in 2012 are falling in love with this character! Why would anyone want to be so controlled by another person -people talk about the love story plot but I'm sorry I would never let a man treat me like that. Since voicing my opinions amongst friends others have said that they agree with me -it's the 'hype' of the book that makes it creditable amongst women to say its good!!!! If you want to read some sexy trash this is for you but if you prefer something with a more intelligent story line look elsewhere. Won't be reading the other books!! For anyone who may think I'm some kind of radical feminist I'm not-I'm happily married to a man who is far removed from mr grey!!!

  Peurile rubbish

Started reading this to see what all the fuss was about. Very disappointed. It's written in the literary style of a teenager keeping a diary without any redeaming features. It does not merit all the publicity.

What's the matter with you people?

Seriously, read a real book. This is not worth the paper it's printed on. Please stop promoting and therefore encouraging this type of 'writing'. It's bad; really bad and you're a bad person for liking it.

I've read childrens books that are written better than this awful waste of paper and its an insult to well written decent novels that these books have been published, let alone become a best seller. I can't really say anything else about this book its that boring and depressing.

  Fifty Shades of Rubbish

Poorly written, lifeless and supremely unrealistic, unlikeable characters, repetitive phrasing, unnecessary detail and sex scenes that have been done many times before, much better. The ONLY reason this book got any attention is because it began as Twilight fanfiction, and as such, EL James has made her fortune by piggybacking on someone else's hard work.

Was dissapointed. Many better erotica novels out there. Not very well written and poor ending unless you have second book to follow on. :(

I would recomend this book to just about everyone! I don't normally like these kind of books but I thought it was one of the best books ever read! It's really well written and quite litterally makes you want more! Read it within a week and now on the second one, loving every page!
