I cannot give this book one bad word I loved it from cover to cover every single word had me engaged and my head on their adventure with them, it makes you feel like the 16th member on the absolutly thrilling adventure, you can almost see the film in your head. If you enjoy reading this is the book for you suitable for almost any age from like 10 upwards. A MUST BUY...enjoy the adventure!

Well. It is great read. Not much else to say about that because pretty much everybody knows The Hobitt. Front cover of this edition is especially beautiful old-style drawing of 'mountain area' or something.

  One of the best reads

It's a long time since I was a little girl and my memories of the stories I read and that were read to me then are mostly quite vague. A couple still stand out in my mind and The Hobbit is the most memorable. We all loved it. I clearly remember sitting quietly with my class of 7 year old chums, cross-legged on the classroom floor around our teacher, waiting for her to start reading the next instalment. We were on tenterhooks, wondering if Bilbo and the dwarfs would get away from the Trolls or the Goblins or the Spiders or the Elves ... . It was nerve-wracking and enthralling and we were all absolutely, 100% attentive: you could've heard a pin drop in that class between about 2.30 and 3.15pm during the weeks of The Hobbit. I read it by myself soon after that and I still read the book from time to time and listen to it on audiobook. The magic never dies. I wonder how many children Tolkien is responsible for getting hooked on reading. This really is a wonderful children's book and I recommend it for reading alone, reading together, reading to children and (if you're very lucky) having read to you.
