"Star Wars" was released in 1977 and went on to earn almost $775 million at the worldwide box office. It would change film making forever.
Published for the 30th anniversary of the original "Star Wars" movie, this is a must-have book for all "Star Wars" fans and movie lovers. Lavishly illustrated with hundreds of images spanning the creation of the film, and including previously unpublished interviews and stories, "The Making of Star Wars" is a piece of cinema history; and the story behind the making of this book is almost as intriguing.
When author J.W. Rinzler heard that a similar book had been started back in the 1970s - around the time of filming - curiosity got the better

when the book arrived i was surprized how big it was , unusaul for a making of book.at first i just flicked through and looked at the many wonderful pictures. so far so good loads ive never seen before.so far ive read the first three chapters. if you are a star wars fan you must buy this book .i never knew how hard it was to make a movie ,i would have given up,im glad george had more patience.
Extremely detailed, rounded and compelling account of the film's creation.
Having been a fan for 31+ years i thought i had known all there was to know about star wars untill this book arrived. Now i do know everything!
This book is huge has great pictures and makes a great read.
Will appeal to all who are interested from padawans to jedi knight's!
While reading this book you immediatly get engulfed in the atmosphere of the 70's. It almost reads like a thriller at times, when you see what hardship creator Lucas & co had to endure. What's also refreshing about this book: its written without any hindsight of the enormous succes the movie would get. Beautiful behind-the-scenes photos, clear comprehensible writing (no cinematographic technobabble) and an exciting real-time story line makes this an excellent book. I have also seen the paperback of this book and this hardback is much better, partly because of the lettertype, partly because of all extra photos -that are just as interesting as the story. But also because this book in itself is a monument for the Star Wars fan and movie addict.
