The end begins with a viral outbreak unlike anything mankind has ever encountered before. The infected are subject to delirium, fever, a dramatic increase in violent behavior, and a one-hundred percent mortality rate. Death. But it doesn't end there. The victims return from death to walk the earth. When a massive military operation fails to contain the plague of the living dead it escalates into a global pandemic. In one fell swoop, the necessities of life become much more basic. Gone are petty everyday concerns. Gone are the amenities of civilized life. Yet a single law of nature remains: Live, or die. Kill, or be killed. On one side of the world, a battle-hardened General surveys the remnants of his command: a young medic, a veteran photographer, a brash Private, and dozens of refugees, all are his responsibility-all thousands of miles from home. Back in the United States, an Army Colonel discovers the darker side of Morningstar virus and begins to collaborate with a well-known journalist to leak the information to the public... The Morningstar Saga has begun.

This Book is quite simply Brilliant.

I'm rereading it and it still makes me nervous and is simply gripping.

When you buy it make sure you've got some free time because you will not want to put it down.

Its the first of three and the Auther says the second is hitting the presses now....... the reason for telling you this is because by the end you'll want more you'll care.

BUY THIS BOOK its worth!!

In the vein of Dawn of the Dead

I didn't have high hopes for this book, I must admit. I am a huge Zombie fan, and have read some truly dire stories in my time!
Plague of the Dead was not one of them. Much like Dawn of the Dead, it follows a set of characters, while still giving a global view of the "invasion". The characters are largely believable, as are the scenarios the characters find themselves in (well mostly). I am looking forward to the second book in this series of 3 with some excitement.
A definate must-read book for the Zombie enthusiast!

proves that the zombie genre hasn't been picked clean!!!

When i sat down to read this book i was skeptical.
Firstly, the military aspect i felt would overshadow the true nature of the book. Let me tell you, it didn't!
Secondly, the whole virus reanimating the living dead thing has been done to death (although a good storyline helps remedy this) and guess what. IT DIDN'T!
This is without a doubt the best zombie book I've read in a long time and it also offered a lot of refreshing alternatives to the zombie genre. Both fast and slow zombies!
If you buy this book you'll be forking out for the second one soon after.

 Great zombie book

I'll start by staying that if you've read World War Z then your enjoy this book as well. They are both very different in that this book is more of a storyline but it firmly grips you by the arms and keeps you hooked!
I'm currently reading Part 2 of the Morningstar series, this book is Part 1 so you will need to buy the second book to follow on from this, but don't let that dishearten you as the storyline is great.

Ever movie/book has their own view of how a zombie should be, this book is no different, and to be honest the zombies have an interesting two sides to them... not going to give anything away your just have to read the book!

The read is easy and fluid while still holding a level of maturity that you will desire from any decent horror.

I would recommend this book (and the second) to any zombie fan - this book will not disappoint your need for a bit of zombie loving!
