  An Enlightening Read

"louby79" left a review on this book which is extremely narrow minded and ignorant. The authors of this book say at all times that this is brutal, and not the easiest lifestyle change to take up. It's a book about veganism, and contains FACTS about the food which we eat. It's fascinating to read, and I have learnt a lot. And even if you don't follow what they say, even the slightest change will make you feel better....because this is a book to make you healthier, not a guide to get you to size zero.
So if you're even slightly less narrow minded than the aforementioned person, and I guarantee you, you are, then give this book a shot. It's well worth a read, and for such a small price!

  FEELING SO HEALTHY

| | See all MERTENS's reviews (3)

At 32 although I'don't have a weight problem at all I've tried so many times to eat healthy foods that buying this book was just sth usual to me.
These girls turned me to a vegan overnight (I used to eat only junk food and loved it).
It is true that the list of prepared foods they provide us is strictly for US citizens but once you decide to be a vegan you can adjust your country's recipes and way of eating so easily and also find some ready to eat meals in organic stores (if i can find them in Greece I think in UK will be much easier).
For the first time in my life I feel clean and healthy and I lost 2 extra kilos (4 pounds) in just 2 weeks.
Just go for it xx

  Very American!!

This is a very good read, although it only took me a couple of hours this afternoon and now I am fed up with it.
It was quite funny, lots of swearing, which got abit boring, and had some useful stuff in it.
But....... it is just too American, and....... I don't want to become a vegan. No offence to vegans, have some as friends, and yes they are skinny.
But.........here it comes, they don't eat chocolate!!!!! Sorry life is too short to quit chocolate, cream cakes and white wine, also cheese and french bread.
If you want to be a vegan though, this is the book for you, just ignore the American stuff and it will be quite helpful. Don't get too skinny though!

  A Good Read

| | See all Dragonfire's reviews (3)

It's a good read if you wish to drop meat and pultry for life but unfortunately it's basically meant for US readers. It did make me aware of stuff that either I didn't know or chose to ignore and has changed my views when it comes to food a lot in just 1 night (that's how long it took me to read it cover to cover).

It's good, really good and can really help you make up your mind about what you want to stuff yourself with but it won't do the job for you. Specially if you are living outside the US the book can only offer advice and open your eyes to facts but the rest is up to you.

I would recomend it to anyone who wants to lose weight, who has started a diet and just needs some extra motivation. You don't need to turn to a vegan to abide to most of the book's rules, you just need to know what these girls have to say in order to make more educated choices.

It helped me a lot and will probably help you too.

This book is a god send! It will truly open your eyes to the lifestyle you lead and the decisions you make and change the way you think and operate. Not for the easily offended but the harsh delivery really makes the point of the book hit home. This book has truly changed me.

If you want a witty and informative "lifestyle diet" book then this is the one! This book will become your friend for life- It yells at you, calls you names, has sarcastic one-liners and tells you the most horrifying stories about what's in our food!!!
I'm not about to become vegan but I am taking on other parts and ideas from it and it's not about becoming size zero, it's about becoming a healthier person.
It's a book that will make you think twice before putting anything in your mouth ever again.

I was hooked by page 1 and didn't put it down until I finished it. I'd heard so much about it that I had to satisfy my curiosity. Not for the easily offended this book tells you what's what, informing you what is in what food and what it does to you. Scary stuff but a brilliant and informative read. I'll never so much as look at a Mars bar again

What can I say, fantastic read. Had me laughing non stop with the classic one liners, it hasn't converted me into becoming a Vegan however I did find it incredibly interesting, my favourte chapter 8 being all about pooping. Great book!
