Bought this book as a present for my dog loving Nan. I haven't read it myself but she thought it was fantastic. A must for dog lovers.

  One for the owners

Although I admittedly asked my boyfriend to get me this for Christmas, it was probably the best present that I received from anyone.
I laughed and cried at this- it's a long shot from being literary genius, but it's such a heartwarmer of a book that it's impossible to put down.
It's not Lassie, and don't expect Marley to be catapulted to fame and fortune, or save children from a burning building- Marley and Me is simply the story of a dog lover who thought that his beloved dog deserved a lasting memory. He did him justice.

This story is so funny yet we all know that it will end in tears. I read this whilst on holiday in Portugal and just could not put it down. John Grogan will be immortalised through his dog and deservedly so. I challenege anyone not to fall in love with Marley. I usually take all my read books to the charity shop but not this one. When i need reminding that i love my own dogs or just when i need to smile i shall pick this book up again and again to re-live the story. Absolutely fantastci storytelling. It is such a shame that the film was nowhere near as good but in fairness i think that was a big ask and the actors did a great job.

A Very Different Story To The Film, Heartwarming Throughout

A book every dog owner should own, this real life tale shows how despite his many foibles and disasters Marley came to become part of the Grogan family and ultimately made their lives all the better for his inclusion, a very candid tale of how Marley confronts almost every social barrier and bounds through it without a care, lovingly told and written, an international bestseller which fully deserves its place on the shelf, a heartbreaking end, read this rather than watch the film as it far outclasses the film in all regards.

  Definitly one to read!!!

A book that made me laugh and cry concurrently. I was able to relate to this story very well. Thought I was the only one with the world's worst dogs. If you're not an animal lover, this book makes you love dogs or animals in general. And for those with pets, it brings you closer to them and appreciate them even more no matter how mischievious. A book to keep on your shelf and read over again!!!

One of the most amazing books I've ever read, laughter and tears the whole way through! It makes you really appreciate the times you've had with any dog you've ever owned, or make you want that closeness with a dog if you've never had one! Truly shows how a dog is a major part of a families growth over the years..beautiful :)

This book was a truely good read!! from the begining to end it was full of laughs, tension and tears. At first I was a bit unsure about it as I wasnt sure if a mans life with his dog would be a very interesting. But im so glad i did read it! Marley truely was no ordinary dog and the whole book as you thinking what will he do next.
