 Fantastic Idea!

This is a brilliant book and an absolute must-buy for any Marvel fan. The collectibles inside are spot on and the book has clearly been written by two authors who know and love their subject.

With regards to the previous comment about the binding, I've had my copy for a while now and it has been well read by me and most of my friends and is showing no signs of wear and tear. As long as you're careful with the pages, this really isn't an issue.

A great Christmas gift for the comic fans in your life!

 Marvel Vault

The Marvel vault is stunning and an amazing idea. It is the definitive history of Marvel Comics, the art work is amazing, and the articles are well written and informative. It is well set out and has a host of simply amazing reproduction artefacts.

However - I would not advise anyone to buy it. You see it has an amazing flaw. The pages are held in place by a fixed metal ring binder. Even with careful usage, the pages are going to pull against it and eventually fall out. I looked at my copy only once and there were already signs of stress on the pages.

Very sad as when I found out about this book I could not wait to get my hands on it.

 Great for Marvel Fans!

This book has it all!
From the creation of Marvel to where it is now; this book covers everything. It has a fantastic design and there is a comfortable mix between text and pictures. The 'collectables' are fantastic and this really should be part of any respectable Marvels fan's collection!
In response to the binding of the book; I personally think that there is no problem with it. I purchased my 'vault' in America, and it survived the plane journey and the 2 years of which I've had it. It's like with all things, it will stay in good condition if you treat it well!

 Truly a A Museum-in-a-book!

The "museum-in-a-book" part of the title really is spot on. To simply call this a "book" is not doing this wonderful creation justice. This is so much more than just a book covering the story of Marvel Comics, it's more like a guided tour, with two guides (the authors) that in addition to really love and know the subject also have a wonderful sense of humor and while being accurate and detailed they are not taking the subject too dead serious. You got quite a few good laughs waiting for you between these covers!

You'll explore postcards, sketches, notes, covers, advertisements and all sorts of tidbits and gems neatly stored in plastic pockets (yes - not just copied onto regular pages of a book. This IS a museum!) and knitted into this historic travel through time.

So, if you too are a Marvel fan, do yourself a favor and get this ticket to an entertaining exploration. You will revisit this museum over and over again!
