Great for kids, but a little thin for adults

I finished this book in 1 afternoon, not because it was so great I had to, but rather it was so short before I knew it I was at the end, this story does delve into the psychological state of children in some detail, exploring what would happen if they were forced to grown up instantly, and the fact that even if they do, matters won't change and they will still fight, hate and even more, possibly kill, good novel for children just getting into fiction but for people that have read psychological thrillers before this may seem to have a thin plotline, characters and page count which could I feel have been expanded to create a greater novel although what is there is a fairly good novel.

  Just Brilliant

Had to read this for G.C.S.E, such an amazing book, I have read it so many times, and haven't got bored of it; the person who's titled their comment; "why does everyone lie?" must be some kind of idiot, it's a brilliant book which the film does not do justice, I would reccoment this book to anybody, such an amazing read.

  A Complete Classic

One of the best books ever written with an ending that whips you, and the characters, back to reality in the very last sentence.

The most impressive thing about this book is the fact that it is so re-readable. And for a book that takes little time to read, the impression it leaves is one that lasts a little longer than you'd like.

  Why does everyone lie?

Disappointment surged through me as I read the first chapter and it has been left in my cupboard since that very day. Their was a difficult to learn story line which was so unrealistic. A plane crashes on an island which is delivering some boys from a school to a country for a school trip. The boys dont even leak a tear or get worried once. How unrealitic!

Possible Golding most famous book and for good reason. Not only is it a good story for the casual reader but those who look deeper will find comparsion between the children and modern society.

A damn good read do yourself a favour and buy this book. It's a classic for a reason!
