I feel this book to be quite disappointing considering it's by Stephen J. Sansweet (god of all Star Wars collector items) and how much praise i've heard about it from other fellow star wars collectors.
To begin with It has no real detail in terms of card-back (packaging to you an me) variants let alone figure variants; a no, no for carded collectors.
nor does it have any pictorial details on accessories that come with each figure.
It's essentially a book with pictures of just 3/3 4" figures that have been out over the last 35 years, and that's (unfortunately) not including vehicles despite figures that come with vehicles are in the book.

I must also say I've stumbled upon some missing figures within the book; Malgus (vintage collection no 96), Tarkin (vintage collection no 98) - yet figures from later waves within the vintage collection line are included, (Starkiller no 100 and Republic Trooper 113), also not to forget Clone Wars Cybernetic Maul.

Don't get me wrong you can tell it's by someone who's passionate about star wars (well it's by Sansweet after all) and when reading it, it's like being sat with a incredibly passionate friend briefly talking about each and every item in his collection with some reasons why he likes it, but thats the thing.
It all feels so brief that it's like a friend rushing around his / her room pointing things out giving a couple of reasons why they like it, In that sense the book seems rushed...
And it pains me to say that, and I feel I can't slate it any more to this point as I understand that each year it becomes increasingly hard to make a comprehensive book on an ever increasing toy line.
35 years and onwards...
which leaves me questioning; why not just make an yearly figure Annual opposed to one "big book"?
separate books dedicated to ONE year of 3/3 4" figures / vehicles that were out in that set year?

So is this book worth getting?
To a newbie loose collector, I'd say get it as it offers enough information you require as a starter.
Collector's, I can only say it's up to you... but I will say have a flick through it in store and judge it in person before buying to decide if it's any worth to you.

I rate it 2.5, however 3.5 if you're a newbie to collecting star wars 3/3 4" figures
