Mass Effect: Revelation: Revelation: Revelation | Paperback

First things first, i don't really read books, i get bored easily and rather play video games. I purchased the book as the game looks amazing and i'd buy anything to do with mass effect at the moment.

The book was great the only book in years i read from cover to cover. Its a good story, well written and really sets the seen for the upcoming game. I can't wait for the game or the mass effect 2 book due next year. I checked out other books written by Drew and ordered the star wars one straight away , another game tie in (Knights of the Old Republic).

To summarize, if you like sci-fi, like to read or simply just like the sound of the game Mass Effect you should get this i can't recommend it enough. Baring in mind i never read books as they rarely hold my attention as much as this one did. Roll on Mass effect the game and Mass Effect 2 the book.

With Drew's background in excellent story-based games and books, it's no wonder this book makes the perfect addition.
Drew goes into immense detail to explain his own, enormous, futuristic world, and he stops at nothing. Even the barely used characters hold a background; revealed by their emotions and image.
But worry not - he makes a good point of keeping things simple and understandable, making it a wonderfully easy read. This in turn, keeps the imagination flowing.

An incredible story, with enough depth to make you drool. A must-have for anyone's sci-fi collection.

After completing the game the first time i decided to get this book since the in-game story was great and i wanted more; well, i got more, but from a book i was expecting much more, instead this looks like a sort of plain novelization of a script for a side-story that will never be realized as a game. It serves its purpose to unveil some infos about the game (mainly Anderson and Saren), but not much more, since Karpyshyn looks more worried in describing the way people dies instead in developing some interesting character with a tri-dimensional mind, in fact all characters are plain, they always act the same way, you can clearly predict what they'll always do (this happens also in the game, but there it's comprehensible).
So, good book, but only if you've played the game, it serves no purpose if you haven't.

This is not a bad book, however nor is it a particularly good one.
There are a few characters that cross over from this book to the first mass effect game but the correlation between the two works is loose at best. The characters are portrayed reasonably well though they are not developed much over the course of the book; this was a dissapointment as character development is one of the the main things I look for in a novel.
The authors prose is fairly well written, the descriptions of characters and environments competant but not enough to bring the subject matter to life. There are a few mistakes that the editors missed that will get on your nerves slightly but are easily forgotten.
In conclusion this book is alright for a bit of light reading, however do not expect any shocking revelations as to the world of mass effect or any characters sympathetic enough to really pull you in.

Awesome book and saren is a bad ass !! i highly recomend this book to anyone.
