  A good read.

I really enjoyed this book, easy to get stuck into and a plot which keeps you wanting to read on. For me it doesn't quite get to the heights that other reviewers state. Its not an all time classic, this is a very good novel but one that simply a good read.

This is one of the best books I've ever read! My first copy of it has fallen to pieces where I've read it so much, a friend bought me a new copy and that's looking a bit sorry for itself now and I bought a copy of it in Polish to help me learn the language and enjoy this absolutely perfect book in more than one language.
If you haven't read this book, you have been sorely deprived and my heart goes out to you. Please, I beg of you, read it. You will fall in love page after page.

The Book Thief - As narrated by Death Himself

| | See all KBen08's reviews (1)

A beautiful and haunting narrative by death himself, showing the futility of trying to outrun him, deny him or - god/s forbid - helping him along- made worse by the fact that it's set in nazi germany in the 40's - so we the reader are already privy to the outcome for the majority of the sad participants.
A pure and errudite flight of fancy - which just effortlessly brings one along - until you don't even realise you're off the ground flying along with every word ! Wonderful indeed.

  A Powerful Weepy

I really liked this, it told the story from a young girls view, but at the same time felt realistic. An easy read, which stays with you for a while and will definately make you cry!

  Wonderful story

I rarely weep over anything but his story brought tears to my eyes. A story of love for one's fellowman, even at the risk of death; an insight into the Holocaust: and the ordinary Germans' response, a fantastic story told by Death. I simply could not put it down.

  Touchy and breathtaking

At the beginning, the book seemed a bit slow, but if you give it a chance, it turns out to be one of the most memorable and great stories you have ever read. You just cannot stop being in place of the main character, since it's so well written. Very recommended for any age.

One of the best books I've ever read. Fasinating, funny, sad and very vell written. This is a book which pushes the emotional buttons with just the story. A simply beautiful book who everyone should read at least once.

  In My Hands

A heart-felt heart-rendering read. While reading it I was so touched on several occasions that I closed the book just to ponder over the significance of what I had read, very poignant. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in the Holocast genre and who is prepared for some hard truths.

I couldn't put the book down, I know its' abit cheesy but I really couldn't. I read it on the beach then passed it to my boyfriend who also loved it. I learnt alot from it about peoples experiences of the war and found it full of emotion. I would highly recommend it.
