Not as captivating as The House at Riverton, but a good read all the same. Despite the covers looking very similar, the stories are quite different. A thoroughly enjoyable read that will stay with you for days, but there is a slight bittersweetness to it. A long story, but one that makes you fall in love!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Forgotten Garden - a great book.

This book was brilliant. I could not put it down and wanted it to go on forever. The ending made me cry. I hope Kate Morton soon brings out another book. I also hope that someone makes it into a film - I am sure it would be a block buster!

My gran had given me this book and it lay in my wardrobe for ages as I didn't think it would be my type of book as I normally read love story chick flick kind of books. However I decided to give it a try as I do enjoy history and this was based in the 1900. I am so glad I did. This book was absolutely fantastic and could not put it down, my husband kept finding me with my nose stuck in the book totally engrossed. I have just finished it and straight on to play so see if there were anymore of the same author and have purchased the other two.

A friend told me about this book, so when I came across it I had to buy it! I'm so glad I did! So many plots in the story (I won't give anything away!) Once I start reading it I can't put it down! This is a must read!

I came to this author having picked up House at Riverton on a church table sale! I couldn't put it down. I didn't think Forgotten Garden could match that book but I was wrong. Ms Morton is a storyteller of quality. She is obviously intelligent and her beautiful writing style keeps you hooked from the first to the last page. Her imagination conjours up such brilliant colours and scenes that I am convinced I have been there. The plot twists and turns but you never get bored. I've just ordered the Distant Hours and can't wait for it to arrive!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Utterly fantastic

At the moment this is my favourtie book. It has so much mysteries in the plot that you just have to keep on reading, however there's just enough so that you're not getting confused and annoyed all the time. The book is well written and you get a good understanding of everything that is happening. This is the first book by Kate Morton I have read and I will certainly be reading more from her. I would highly recommend this book to mystery lovers and just anyone who is looking for a good read.
