I bought this book because I love Jodi Picoult's work and her style of writing, after reading The Pact, I wanted another book with similar characters that you fall in love with and their reasons for doing what they do. I found myself torn because the characters in this book as not quite sure whose side I should be on but I inevitably found myself rooting for Peter as the misguided bullied victim of the story. I could not put this book down and found myself staying up till the early hours of the morning to finish it. The twists in the book make for an amazing finale and you won't be disappointed! I gave 5 stars for a book that make you think about choices in life and how they effect everyone and for how Jodi made you really feel the characters pain right till the very end.
I was really looking forward to reading this book..but must say wasn't as good as i'd hoped..as with all her books there are some great moments and twists but not as good as some of her other books which is a shame..but i still await her next book! Im an avid jodi picoult fan!
This a must read!!!!!
She is so fantastic the book was literally glued to my hand, i was reading it in every spare minute!
All of her books are definatly worth a read or two .. or three!!
I took this book on holiday and was hooked so quickly I finished it within two days. Like her other books, the characters are written in such a way you feel like you know them and want to help them - a sign of a truly magical author!
I can't wait for more from her!!
Nineteen Minutes is utterly fantastic. It drew me in from the first page and I couldn't put it down. Truely one of Picoult's best pieces of work.
This book is excellent, i wanted the ending to be different, i felt so much for peter
I have brought copies of this book for my friends
I loved it!
This is the type of book that stays with you after you have finished it and put it down. In true picoult style, she takes a hot topic and makes you think about it in more than the expected way. it highlights just how wrong bullying can go if something isnt done and makes you think about the people who carry out massacres....are they the monsters they are portrayed to be in the media or is there a sad story behind the face? before you answer that...read this book, it might just make you change your mind.
It is a really brilliant book. I've read many of Jodi Picoult's books and this one is definitely one of the best. What I also love a lot about the book is the ending, Picoult ends the novel with a little twist which makes the story all the more exciting. MUST READ!
I thought it was tough to get through, the story seemed real slow. and it werent untill the end that everything got fast. but i was still thinking bout it long after i finished the book. has that effect on me
I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I believe that it highlighted the pressures of secondary schools and how teenagers think they have to fit in. It really showed how you can never understand someones motives, and (to quote Atticus Finch) you never really understand a person until you climb into his skin and walk around in it. A very good read and a real opinion changer. Which character is it that you are meant to love and which is the one you are supposed to hate? The twist at the end was very unexpected, and it made you feel even more sympathy for the boy for protecting the one person who could of helped. A very sad, yet compelling read. If you like something that makes you think and recondsider your opinions, this is for you.
