'Everybody remembers where they were the day they heard that Paddy de Courcy was getting married'
Lola has every reason to be interested in who Paddy's marrying - because although she's his girlfriend, she definitely isn't the bride-to-be. Heartbroken, she flees the city for a cottage by the sea. But will Lola's retreat prove as idyllic as she hopes?
Not if journalist Grace has anything to do with it. She wants the inside story on the de Courcy engagement and thinks Lola holds the key. Grace knew Paddy a long time ago. But why can't she forget him?
Grace's sister, Marnie, might have the answer but she also has issues with the past. Her family is wonderful but they can't take away memories of her first love: a certain Paddy de Courcy. What will it take for Marnie to be able to move on?
And what of the future Mrs de Courcy ... Alicia is determined to be the perfect politician's wife. But does she know the real Paddy de Courcy?
Four very different women. One awfully charming man. And the dark secret that binds them all...

Without a doubt, this is Marian's best book to date with so many layers, it's like sucking a literary gob-stopper!! I was so excited to see the book out earlier than advertised and exploded into my local book shop and hotfooted it home!!! Housework, childcare and husband-appeasing went by the way as I devoured this book. It really took my breath away and was an absolute joy. The characters are so well defined I find myself actually missing them now and would love to "phone them" to catch up!! Just like I still feel very uspet at losing Mammy Walsh from her other books!!! There are aspects of this book that really are harder to read than normal but there is still so much humour equally balanced that this is truly divine!! Thank you Marian - you still rock!!!
Her Best To Date!

Prior to reading this book i had read reviews which stated that regular marion fans may be disappointed with this latest novel-however it couldnt be further from the truth! this book is laugh out loud funny (Lola and her trannies LOL!) heartbreakingly sad (cried for marnie many times) and heartwarming to the end. A true tale of people recieving commeuppance and reward where due. i hugged the book when i finished i loved it so much. Think i will read it again now! The best yet from Miss Keyes indeed.
The best read

This is such a great book. The best Marian I have read so far. At the end I physically hugged the book as I had enjoyed it so much. It has dark humour, laugh out loud bits and loveable characters. Funny, touching and just generally fab.
