I felt the story was getting a little tired in volume 6 and 7, and wondered if it was time for Kirkman to call it day. However, the explosive events in volume 8 have set the story back on track and re-garnered interest. All hell breaks loose as the governor and his croonies launch an offensive against Rick and the coinhabitants of prison. Almost every page is action packed, leading to a shocking and tragic sequence of events which will leave you gasping and wanting more. Roll on Volume 9!!

This series has yet to dissapoint!!
I bought the first copy about 12 months ago and became that engrossed ,I ordered the next 4 and peorderd the following 2 editions.
You really bond with the characters from the outset, and its a reall shock when one of them cops it, but this is it,this is reality, people get killed...
I love stories or scenarios where disparate groups of people are flung together to face seemingly overwhelming odds.
The series is also faithful to the Romero/Zombie genre..you get bit..you become one of them..Great stuff
I really do hope they make a series or movie based on these graphic novels!
Like the previous critic said,Simon Pegg would BE the Man!!!
Highly recommended!

even the god of the zombies George A Romero said that he wished he had written these books so what more recomendation do you need , this series of books are not just blood and guts but they explore the relationships between people involved and how the world would look and change if the dead started to rise from the grave . Any zombie fan will be in hogs heaven , buy them all at once then spend a day to read them all together , oh then read them again . The art work is perfect and it will leave you wanting more and craveing them to make it into a T.V. sereis , an idea i'v already e-mailed to Simon Pegg and Robert Kirkman .

i first found this comic about 2 years ago i have always loved comics especially sin city but this one really grabbed me its more about the people who surived rather than the mass of zombies the art work is fantastic drawn in black and white but it amazing to set tone and mood its dark its funny its gripping read the series from the start you will love it and for those of you who do like this robert kirkman has also written battle pope and marvel zombies both amazing reads!!!! go on get stuck in!

Well, here it is at last! Safe and sound from the walking dead and tucked up in your own prison cell and then WHAM the governor and his minions arrive complete with their own tank. This series just gets better and better and is the ultimate in survival horror. I whole heartidly recommend this to everyone even if you hate horor films (like me!)
