Always liked Paul O'Grady, thinking of him as the daft scouser on the tv at tea-time, but this book shows us there's so much more to him. Very easy to read, funny but also very moving. Ideal for a Sunday afternoon chill-out.

Story of the man behind Lily Savage . Who had her own TV programmes (Live and Blankety Blank) . Also starred in the Bingo Comedy and then afternoon tv chat shows . Stories about his sexualty , how Lily began , Lily doing gigs , family tradegy , death of his partner , TV friends , life outside tv , , switching from ITV to Channel 4 , having heart attacks etc . I personally didnt think it was as good (a read) as some people reviewing did . Still don't be put off .

Couldn't put this down. A fantastic book, giving an emotional and funny look into the world of Paul O'Grady. Sad in parts and hilarious in others. A very worthwhile book to read. Well recommended.

Reading this book really opened my eyes about Paul O'Grady, far from the iconic peroxide blonde wigs and cheeky smile this book gave the story behind him. I had no idea of some of the things that had happend in his life, i was so moved in some parts, i couldn't put it down.
Worth reading to see the story behind the 5 o clock smile.

this books makes you laugh , cry, you go through every emotion possilbe , sometimes you feel paul is talking to you, instead of reading it , its written so down to earth there are no heirs and graces ,paul says it as it is, he decribes how it took years for his confidence ,to beleive what people said about him was true, he was popular and loved .his love for his family, and friends, his little messages to his partner, while he was on air, how he joked with the nurses when he was ill, i would love to meet this lovely man and be proud to have him as my friend, all in all a great read ,that you can pick up any time and know you will enjoy, if you have a long flight this will make it go quick as you won't want to put it down .
