Phoenix Nights is a Channel 4 comedy series set in a Bolton working man's club, starring award-winning comedian and writer Peter Kay. It's third time lucky for wheelchair-bound club owner Brian Potter, as we join him at the Grand Gala opening of his new venue. It's The Phoenix, rising from the ashes of the illfated, burned-down Neptune. The only way is up for Brian and his staff Jerry St Clair, Max and Paddy, Les Alanos, Ray Von, Holy Mary and dog-worrying fire officer Keith Lard. But the glory days of the industry have long passed, and Brian is struggling to get people through the doors and into the bar. The gala opening with TV's Roy Walker guarantees local press coverage, but from then on it's a fight to survive.
