Having recently finished the Legendary Riftwar Saga I found myself compelled to read more Feist books and this was the next one I picked up. I was a little apprehensive as this book is set 20 years after the end of, "A Darkness At Sethanon" and I wasn't sure if I could bare to read the books without the older characters. However, I was pleasently surprised by this book and never should have doubted the natural talent Feist has for writing great books. It's not as good as the other books i've read so far, but as a standalone book it holds up well and almost brought a tear to the eye at the end. If you've finished the Riftwar Saga and don't know where to go next, read this. It's very good.
