Not Convinced

Being a teacher I always check out whatever books I think can help but this is not one of them. The content, like its AS sibling, is too dumbed down and in my opinion requires students to go off and do a lot more research of their own in order to really hit the top grades. My students are generally unconvinced by this publication also. If you are looking for a general introduction and like going off and doing that little bit extra this will be great as a platform, but if you are the average students who likes to be spoon fed, this is not for you.
A great book

I used this book (and no others) for last year, and I found it very useful. It's concise so there's no info that you don't need to know, but also explains things at the same time. We used this for most lessons, and I also went through it again whilst writing my revision notes. It must work, because in one of the exams I got 100%! The pages are nicely laid out and not really boring unlike other text books, and include example questions which are useful. It also gives you a choice of studies - you can learn, for example, 1 supporting and 1 criticising a particular 'Star' study, or you can learn more. They are very well organised so it is clear which studies are about what and if they support or criticise research. Overall, a great book!
The only thing I would say - it would probably only be useful if you are using this book in class, because other books use different studies. Even if you're not though, you can never learn too many, I just tend to keep it to as few as possible.
