 A good read

Before i bought this, i read what people had to say about it. All everybody was saying is how great it is and "it's the best graphic novel ever!" However, after i read it, i was slightly disappointed. I'm not saying it's a bad novel (far from it), but don't read all the good reviews and expect an amazing novel.

The storyline is very interesting and the artwork is absolutely amazing, but it seems to be far too short and lacks a great sense of excitement - the Joker, seems to be far too comical, but this is just my personal opinion as i prefer a much darker take on the character.

Overall, i would say that it's an OK graphic novel. If you're a fan of Batman, The Joker or just any graphic novel, then i would say read this. However, if you're a new reader and want something that's exciting from the beginning to the end, i would recommend other novels, such as The Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller) and Joker (Brian Azzarello).

 EXCELLENT NOVEL

The killing joke is an amazing look at the mad insane world of the joker and his attemts to push someone over the edge of madness like he was.Amazing and wonderful drawings with a beautiful storyline this inspired Tim Burton to cast big jack first time round and im sure it passed over Heath Ledgers night table at some stage dont think just buy it if you like Batman or the Joker you must read and own this classic tale

Can't say enough good things about The Killing Joke.

If you're a Batman fan, young or old, you should own this.

I shouldn't need to write a large review for this, as you can look pretty much anywhere and find people singing this Graphic Novel's praises. With that being said, if someone reads this and buys the book because of my review and is able to enjoy it even half as much as I have, then my job is done. With that out of the way...

... I don't normally read books of any kind, I'm much more of a movie fan, the only books I have read from cover to cover in the past are the Harry Potter Series. So with that, I was a little hesitant upon getting The Killing Joke. Now that I've read it, cover to cover, and want to read it again, I recommend ANYONE to get this. Whether you consider yourself a reader or not, if you enjoy Batman, or anything about the Batman Universe, you owe it to yourself to get this Graphic Novel. It's 64 pages long, but don't let that put you off either. After reading it, you get the sense that you've just read something brilliant, truly brilliant, it's hard to explain.

I won't use up any more of your time other than to simply say: Get this book, I hope you'll love it as much as I love it.

 dissapointing
