One of the "Discworld" novels. The witches Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick travel to the distant city of Genua to make sure that a servant girl doesn't marry a prince. But all they've got is Mrs Gogol's voodoo, a one-eyed cat and a secondhand magic wand that can only do pumpkins.

Top 100 Books Reviewer

Witches Abroad is the twelfth Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett.
Yet more wonderful fantasy and comedy beautifully mixed into one very entertaining story.
Wyrd sisters is where we are introduced to all three witches, and it is a very entertaining book, but this book; Witches Abroad is where things get particularly interesting.

Granny Weatherwax and co. must take on someone who has extremely powerful magic to hand, has an unhealthy obsession with traditional fairy tails and who doesn't really seem to understand the difference between right and wrong.

As you might imagine, this leads to some rather hilarious situations, but some are also quite disturbing. But not to the point of nightmares of course; if you want such a book, then Terry Pratchett is probably not the best author to choose.

You soon realise that it will take much team work and cunning from the witches to overcome the evil they have traveled so far to stop.
Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat are splendid characters who I think it likely you will want to read more and more about. They take on challenges that become seemingly impossible to overcome with every new book, but they will always give it their best.
A joy to read, and it should not be missed by any fantasy fan.
