This book starts off as a biography of Axl Rose. But from about half-way through the book onwards (after the author fell out with Axl real-time) it becomes more of a Guns 'n' Rose biography and less about Axl Rose. I feel that the authors' falling out with Rose does affect some of his writing; he is keen to put down Axl at every available opportunity, rather than tell the facts as they are. I was interested in finding out about Axl Rose, what things were like from his point of view, what his opinion were, but I didn't get answers to any of that. You can tell in the second half of the book the author has little access to interesting or new information or people willing to be interviewed. After half way it's just about the things we knew about anyway, who's in the band - who isn't etc.... If you are interested in the general Gun 'n' Roses story then this is an OK book. If you want to know about Axl Rose read Slash's autobiography which is much better and I learnt more about Axl there. Let's hope Axl puts out a real authorised biography one day - now that would be a good read!
