I bought this book when i was on holiday last year, i couldn't put the book down. It's romantic and i loved how it was written. Really simple to read; even great for those who don't read much. I even looked forward to going inside to carry on reading! This was the first book i read by Jill Mansell and of course it encouraged me to read more. If you love your romantic books, give this one a go!

Really brilliant story about first loves.

I really recommend this one. I thought it was really great. I finished it in about 2 days, I just couldn't put it down! The ending's really good too. And there's quite a few surprises along the way! Give it a chance, you won't regret it!

The synopsis of this promised so much and quite different to the usual chick lit. Lola is paid off to disappear from her boyfriend, Dougie's, life by his horrible mother. Years later (through circumstance that is a stretch of the imagination) they are thrown back into each other's lifes.

In parts the plot felt rushed; Jill Mansell doesn't seem to know how her character, Doug, should really react when he discovers why Lola left; and you don't really get a feel for or actually LIKE Doug that much. Also the relationship between Doug and his mother is never really explored.

And the ending is a little predicatable and seems a little too neat and as if the author suddenly didn't have the will to write anymore.

I dont' want to say to much more as I wouldn't want to divulge too much detail suffice to say a book with not a great deal of substance but amiable enough if you don't want anything too deep or stretching.
