 An exellent gift idea

This is a wonderful book for Children that will keep even those with short attention spans fascinated over and over again. It's not just something Children can read once and leave to one side for the rest of time. It's something they can look at, talk about with friends, boast about [owning] and share, then from time to time, go back and look at it all over again, and even find things they missed. It will help with home-work, encourage creativity and inspire.
The only thing is, at first, I felt disappointed that the 3-D glasses did not come with the book. I sifted through it over and over to no avail. I phoned play.com to ask for a new book, and this one was to be sent back [first], so as I prepared for the book to be sent back, I decided on the off-chance to go through the book page by page, low-and-behold, there were the glasses, attached to the book between pages 84 and 85. A silly place to have them I thought, but still, that doesn't stop it being a great book, and a wonderful gift choice for Children of all ages, and I'm sure, a great read for adult and 3-D picture fans all over. At £9.99 with free P & P from Play.com it's great value for money too.

Not as good as it used to be

The Guinness Book of Records has been dumbed down.

When I was a child it was jam-packed with amazing facts and astonishing pictures - it's not just my imagination as I've still got some old copies.
It was the sort of book you would get off the shelf for months after Christmas because there was always something new to read and discover.

Now the publishers seem more concerned with gimmicks and the content is not as important. Last year it was glow in the dark, this year the book comes with some 3D glasses to look at some of the pictures.

Please get back to providing a book crammed with interesting facts and statistics and get away from the attention grabbing rubbish - the book will still sell and will probably shift more copies.

 Fact-less

3D - not very good, or worth even putting in the book

Limited facts compared to previous versions

Great book. Rubbish 3D specs and pics...

The book is what we all expect from Guinness but the specs and the 3D pics are pretty lame. Kids will love it tho. My son thought the 3D pics were great. Adults will be disapointed.
