Breaking Dawn | Hardback

Whilst I will probably get a severe backlash for this review, the truth needs to be told!

Twilight was a pretty good book, if a tad gushy in places (even my GF agrees, so its not just me being male and getting irritated by the romance stuff!) The books that followed were not as good but had some redeming qualities when they picked up now and again but nothing can save this book!

The series is too long - the charactors are just not that interesting to sustain this over long borefest. I ended up bored of the constant mood changes of Edward (happy/angry/sad/happy again in the space of a page. Bella is nothing but a selfish looks obsessed teenager (seriously, how many more times can the writer use the phrase 'his marble...god like...angel ....blah blah blah...face/skin' etc?! Buy a Thesaurus love and stop repeating yourself.

Then of course there is Bella's relationship with Jacob. The constant 'battle' of whether she loves him as a friend or more is more fitting for the classroom than a book. its just tedius not to mention boring. Then of course there is Edward and Jacobs bantering (yes i get the whole werewolf/vampire hatred thing BUT again its just annoying as all the writer seems occupied with is to keep going around in circles with unoriginal material)

Then there is the whole idea that EVERYONE fancies Bella (right from the first book the writer touches on this subject). If I knew someone like Bella, as soon as I found out she was this self centred, self obsessed bore, I would run a mile. Seriously,the girl needs theropy.

Meyer seriously needs to stop thinking like a pre-teen and give her readers more credit. The whole 'its not you, its me, its my fault' Bella is more fitting for an episode of Gossip Girl.

This book is over long and just boring beyond belief and I confess I skipped some pages with frustration. I dont want to spoil any of the plot for those who still want to read it but i cant stress this enough when I say DON'T BUY THIS BOOK! Get from your local library and don't waste your money.

I'm a writer and I am shocked that such american dribble is allowed to even be considered, let alone published.

Buy Twilight and enjoy it. Go and see the film in December if you like But avoid this book at all costs.

I've never been a big fan of the books. I just read them when I needed an easy read. These are the kind of books where I sit and wonder WHY I bothered reading them, and can never come up with a good answer. Maybe I thought it would pick up and get better? I'm a big fan of vampires, just not Meyer's. The last book was most painful to read as it was way too long. If she was a better writer, with better ideas, I could have survived, but as superficial as she is it doesn't take long before you're bored and desperate for a better flow in words and in story.

The book starts with the 'heroine' Bella, an 18-year-old girl who's engaged with a vampire. Two seconds into the book and you're left with a feeling of annoyance toward the main character. She's extremely self centered, feeling sorry for herself for having an expensive car that hasn't even been released yet! Wow. I want to shoot her. That's like a big flaw, having a complete ditz as the main character. I thought she was annoying in the other books, but this one is even worse. Her amazing, god-like, sparkling, pale vampire boyfriend Edward isn't much better. He, too, is more annoying in this book than in the others. He can jump from being happy one moment, to being angry the next, for no reason. I wouldn't even date him, if I knew someone like him. Which means that little Bella must like him only for his looks, because there's not much else to him. Good thing he's so amazingly perfect, and sculpted like an archangel from heaven! And EVERYTHING must fall in place for at all times. There's no substance whatsoever.

The book is also sickening in so many ways. I'm not going to spoil anything. You'll know what I mean once you read it. Bella is one sick sex-crazed teen who need to go and see a shrink. Fast.

The whole book borders on laziness, as the ideas, the story lines and the ending all completely shocks me. I would never, ever, let anyone publish this kind of book if I was a publisher. It must be the money, nothing else. It sickens me.

In short words, read something worth the money. I regret spending money on it.

Considering how much i loved the first 3 books, i hate having to write this but o well. The book was awful!!! So, so bad.! It drags on far too long and by half way i was basically begging for it to finish! she should of stopped at eclipse!

i love this book.it was good to see things from bellas side,but also you see things from jakes point of view.also how angry jake is in beginin of book as he loves bella soo much,but things change..not wanting to give any details away it is a must read.really enjoyed this book...i was sad when i finished.i have read all of the twilight books 4 times.i have pre ordered bree tanner book out in june..really love the whole saga.great writing from stephenie meyer.this book is not just for teenagers as i am in my thirtys.it will be good to see how they make this book into a film..a truly good read....

Desperate to find out the answers to this series, I read all four books within a week, the last two solidly over a weekend.

I fell in love with all of the books but this by far is the best. Filled with desperately needed epiphanies and a substantial amount more action that the previous three combined, I was kept on the edge of my seat, unable to put the book down. The characters deepen, the plot explains what has come before and keeps you wanting more.

Deeply sad that this was the last time I would get to read of the adventures of Bella, Jacob and the Cullen's, I would urge anyone who has started the quadrilogy to read on and get to the finale - an amazing story to make you jealous not to be living in the world where myths and fairy tales come alive.
