I read this whilst on holiday and was a great read, I struggled to put it down! It was a great to read his thoughts and ideas about everything. I would and have recommended this to many people.

This is nothing short of an extraordinary piece of work. Obama tells the story of his early life in a heart warming and epic tale, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, gripping, honest and one that reflects on the mistakes of the past while although not telling us how the story ends leaves the reader fulfilled and satisfied

Put political views aside this isn't a book about politics, just a truly beautifully written novel about the story of a black African man in modern day America dealing with some of the many issues that plague us all.

A must read for anyone and everyone even if you are not a Barack supporter. This is not just a book about Barack's stepping stones into politics, it's also a story representative of many black and mixed race people growing up in a white world. The book is so well and fluidly written it could be a novel rather than a memoir. If you commute on the train to work, get this book, it will make the time fly before you know it.

An insight to who could be the next president of the USA

Barack Obama's reflections of his life leading from his childhood in Hawaii, working as an organiser in Chicago, to meeting his fathers family in Kenya offers an excellent insight into who could be the next president of the USA. His writing is engaging and thoughtful and completely opposes our perceptions of who an American president is. A must read for those wishing to understand a bit more about the man who could potentially be the most powerful person in the world.
