Bought for my mother who received it for an engagement present over 30 years and couldn't actually read/open it from all the ingredients dropped on it. She thinks it is fantastic and getting just as dirty. I thought she could have memorised the recipes by now.

I bought this for my husband who loves to cook and it is always out in the kitchen, he's always using it. Great recipes that actually work and taste delicious.
Now ordering one for my son's girlfriend who has picked it up and found it so interesting. Good buy. Excellent.

I have been using this book since i was able to read and cook, its the best basic book in the world if you want a book that is not celeb influanced and has a wide spread of everything and all you need to know how to make things most people buy in supermarkets.

  A little dated, but the oldies are often the best!

This book may have originally been published in 1968 but the recipies are still great as is the advice. Whatever food you are into there will be something for you in this book. It also has all the forgotton basics that no one ever cooks anymore but buys like scones, hot cross buns, bread and various cakes.
