I love Alvin Hall, all of his books are a really good no nonsence read. This book is very good for someone who is looking to buy their first property. It carrys an extesive amount of information about looking for your first house, where to buy, how much deposit you realistically need to buy your first house, why and where you want to buy. Different kinds of mortgages, decorating, home improvements that will add value,those that don't if that value is worth the hastle, and also all the highs and lows of owning a property and the costs involved.
It looks breifly into intrest rate inflation and what you can expect.

(However if you allready have a mortgage it doesn't tell you about reducing your loan amount, and taking years off your mortgage if this is what you want to know this book may not be for you.)
It does put theorys of using your home as a pension into perspective and making it clear that your home is a long term investment, and a continually costly one
goes into a little detail about equity release companys basically DONT BE FOOLED! Great read but not for me.....
