4.5 Entertaining Hammers27 | 17/01/2011 | See all Hammers27's reviews (101) Entertaining comes to mind when I think of a word to describe this book. I absolutely LOVE the TV series and that's why I decided to start reading the books. However, they are different in many ways.First of all, this book and the first season of Dexter on Tv both follow the same direction, but have completely different endings. When reviewing this book I have to look at it as if I've never seen the TV series because if I do then I would be disappointed. Because quite frankly, the TV series is much, much better. But don't let that put you off.The book is still fun to read; 'entertaining' as I put it. Forgetting the TV series this book takes you through the mind of Dexter the serial killer who only kill sbad people, but in fact he hardly kills anyone in this book. Maybe two or three. But it's the happenings leading up to them, and the aftermaths of them which make it a good book and story.I think the writing was ok but like somene else said it could have been a little longer and a bit more descriptive. But I've got no complaints there really, I'm just nit picking.I'll be honest, I dislike the ending, but I've still bought the second book so I will see where we go from here. The book is confusing in places and goes down some wrong paths, but it's still Dexter and still worth it.I highly recommend the TV series and this book.
