  Truely mesmerising

This book does not tell a story of a person with a dream, that then did everything to fund that dream, and then become part of one of the worlds most reconised band, this is a gritty life lust story about a drug dealers son, who fought demons throughout his life, escaped death on more than one occassion, and ultimately pushed away everyone he knew.

This is a story about loneliness

It is also a story about friendship, the up and the downs,
About family

From the first page, this compelling account of kiedis's life imerresses you into his childhood years, and takes you through a truelly rollercoaster lifestyle,

If this was to be made into a film, it would certainly be banned from many countries screens, for the detailed honnesty it portrays

He does not make this book all fancy and loving, so the fans think he is the greatest man alive

He tells his fans and all other readers the truth, he doesnt sugar coat any of his words, nor does he try to seek redemption from what he rights, or make excuses for the wrongs

This is one of the best books i have come accross in my life time, i recommend anyone and everyone to read the first chapter of this book, and not put it down, whether you are a fan of his music, or completely disinterested, this book is a real story and a real eye opener.

  Mindblowing real-life adventure

This is by far the most honest and uncompromizing autobiogrophy of our time. Read it and weep. And laugh. But don't try it at home. A. Kiedis has transcribed his life so far in an excelent way with stories you only could imagine belonged to a fictional character. "Over the laws of light. Over the moon by midnight. Let's do it all this time. Everyone wishing, well we go.."

I started reading this book at a friends house one hot summer day, and soon found I was unable to put it down! The way Kiedis has poured himself into the pages gives the reader a fantastic sense of how he felt at each period in his life, whether it be high, low, or out-of -the-park. A brilliant read, highly recommended to anyone.

Drugs in the left hand, girls on the right! Anthony was pretty lucky! it is a good book to get to know Anthony, but literally, it is not as good as his lyrics!

  Hard To Put Down

| | See all Throughtheloop's reviews (4)

For anybody who is a chili peppers fan, they should find this book very hard to put down. I recieved mine in the post the other day and set about reading it the same night. At one point I actually had to stop myself to tell myself to go to sleep. I found it very addictive and i'm slowly burning my way through it now.

The book is an interesting insight in to the life of Anthony Kiedis, and the many factors around him through his childhood that affected him. There's alot of talk about drugs through the book, and I know people have moaned about this, but if it happened, he's writing about it.

Although i'm a big fan, I didn't really know anything about any of the characters in the band, but this book is beginning to open it up. I've reached chapter 5 and it's just about to break in to the formation of the band.

There's some interesting stories in this book, and also some very funny ones. I enjoyed the writing style, and I think that it's quite easy to read and follow for somebody who is perhaps new to books!
