It was meant to be a harmless stag night prank. A few hours later four of his best friends are dead, and Michael Harrison has disappeared. With only three days to the wedding, Detective Superintendent Grace - a man haunted by the shadow of his own missing wife - is contacted by Michael's beautiful, distraught fiancee, Ashley Harper. Grace discovers that the one man who ought to know Michael Harrison's whereabouts is saying nothing. But then he has a lot to gain - more than anyone realizes. For one man's disaster is another man's fortune ..."Dead Simple" ...'James has got the gift for turning mind-stretching subjects into novels that are irresistibly readable as well as utterly believable' - Robert Goddard. 'A brilliant idea, superbly crafted. A terrific page-turner' - James Herbert 'A page-turner of a book with some terrifying twists ...a very satisfying read' - George Baker, Inspector Wexford.

I bought this book for my nephew but I had to read it first. I couldn't put it down finished it in one day. There are so many twists and turns in the plot you never know where you will end up. You will find yourself shouting at the characters. It would make a brilliant film. Will definitely buy more by this author.

It WAS Dead Simple.... I couldn't put it down.

I was recommended to read this by someone I met very briefly who lives in Dartmoor! When he learned that I live in Brighton he asked if I had read this book. He enthused so much that I wrote down the title and ordered it straightaway. He was right, it's a great atmospheric thriller, with lots of plot twists and well defined characters. The background descriptions of Brighton were the cherries on the cake for me, I shall definitely read the next in the series.... and thank you mystery man from Dartmoor.

 Simples.....

Have you ever read a book so tense that you can hardly breathe and cannot wait to turn the next page? This book was the first Peter James I read and I adored it. The twists are turns get you to the point you want to shout at the characters so they react how you want them to but Peter James has other ideas and it's absolutely gripping! If you want to sleep on holiday do not take this- you will not want to put it down

 brilliant !

This book is amazing - I read it in 2 days. The character of Roy Grace is very interesting - I have read a later book in the series and Roy's life continues to change - would recommend to anyone who likes Simon Kernick's books.
