A new Sookie Stackhouse book is always a treat! Sookie is a sexy, sassy cocktail waitress who works at Merlotte's Bar in Bon Temps, Louisiana. She's just a regular gal, with all the normal hopes and fears, about dating, boys and life in general - oh, and she's telepathic. And her boyfriends have included Vampire Bill, her first love and the were-tiger Quinn. And Bon Temps is a pretty normal rural town, where murders are mercifully rare. Well, maybe not that rare, as Sookie keeps finding out in this award-winning, New York Times bestselling series! And now Sookie's come to the small screen in TRUE BLOOD, 'the fall's weirdest and most compelling show' (ROLLING STONE), created by Alan Ball (SIX FEET UNDER) and starring Anna Paquin as the irrepressible heroine.

The latest and arguably the darkest of the Sookie Stackhouse series, this book concentrates on Sookie's ancestry and her blood relations the Fae (Fairies to you and me) but do not let that fool you these faires are definately nothing like Tinkerbell!, murderous, sadistic and bloodthirsty which isn't good when it is directed against Sookie, basically they want her dead, the story opens with a crucifiction and ends with a bloody battle, there is an interesting side story of the Were's and Shifters going public which intertwines nicely with the main story. As always it is well written and compelling, There are numerous deaths including a couple of familiar characters and the relationship between Eric and Sookie takes another twist. These books just keep getting better and better, can't wait for the next to be released!!

I think this is one of my favourite books of the series. I love that sookie ends up in bed with eric (again), but she definately has her old feelings for bill coming back, he is willing to die for her. She finds out a lot more of her fairy ancestors (the good and the bad). No alcide in this book and only a tiny bit of quinn. This girl is spoiled for choice!!! Hurry up next book.

 Different from the rest

Have been reading this sequel for about 6 years now avidly awaiting each new addition. This is more saddistic than the others and has a focus on Sookies ancestors that you learn about over the course of the 9 books. Was sad on how the 8th book ended that Hunter was not included in this book and also how Quinn is not involved. Apart from that gripping as ever and I read it within 5 hours the minute I opened it. People who have started watching Trueblood need to read the books as the show has alot of contradictions to the book i.e Tara doesn't really play any role in the book and appears from time to time. Can't wait for the next installment, the books are definately better than the show though!

wow.. what a great book..this starts off where the shifters and weres all decide to announce there existance[if it worked for the vamps..]not everyone is pleased, arlene is going out with someone from the fellowship of the sun which puts a strain on there friendship....since meeting her great grandfather who happens to a fairy [also royalty]sookie finds herself once again in danger...there is a fae war going on good against evil...there are fairies out to hurt her.we find out how sookies parents really died..i feel slightly sorry for her ex bill as you see he truely does love her and will do anything to try and protect her..also quinn and eric are still fighting for her affections..she is getting closer to eric.[is this because of the blood bond or does she really like him] .there are lots of twists and turns in this book....i love all the sookie stackhouse books...what a amazing author charlaine harris is..these books keep getting better and better.i have book 10 pre ordered..cant wait untill june to see what happens.... a must read.....
