This book charts the rise and fall of the most famous Depression-era bank robbers, Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd, Bonnie and Clyde, the Barker-Karpis Gang, and the efforts of the fledgling FBI to capture these "Public Enemies" dead or alive.

The book begins with the Kansas City Massacre and takes us through the lives of all the major bank robbers to their capture or death. The story is told in date order, interweaving each narrative flawlessly.

It's a highly entertaining and breathless read, one I haven't been able to put down since I bought it.
