This book started off promisingly and kept me hooked throughout the entire book. However, it came to an abrupt end that for me, wasn't at all satisfying.

Former cop turned journalist and novelist, Ben Hawkins is drawn into a serial killer's game when he flies to Maui to cover the story of a intelligent young model's abduction and subsequently, murder. Henri Benoit is calculating, clever and very, very confident. When he commissions Hawkins to help him under the threat of death, is he finally going too far?

A tantalizing yet brutal book which is typical of James Patterson. However, what is not typical is the fact that the summation of the plot was stuffed into pretty much the last page, with no clear explanation for what happens. In addition, the epilogue offers no hint as to whether an explanation will ever be given, whether in the form of a sequel or otherwise. Disappointed by this book.
