The Girl Who Played with Fire | Paperback

Another great book. Fast paced and full of exciting plot! It is a little more complex and and there are a lot more characters to keep track of. Lisabeth is a fantastic character and you find out loads more about her. You have to read the girl with the dragon tattoo first - dont make my mums mistake and read this one first - she was more than a little confused!

Another great book, as was the first in the series. I love the complex charater of Lisbeth Salander, and how with each book we are finding out more of what has happened to her. This book like the first is a little slow right at the start, but soon picks up pace. I am really enjoying these books, and will be disappointed when I have finished the last.

On a totally random piece of useless information..... it really tickled me the amount of times in the book it's mentioned they're having a "cup of coffee", or "putting the coffee machine on". They are obviously big fans of coffee in Sweden !!

The Girl Who Played With Fire is the second part of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy. It follows on from the events in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and is a riveting read.

Although the story is not quite as good this book benefits from the reader already knowing the characters. This is big book but its a quick read because once the story gets going the pace is relentless.

The central character Lisbeth Salander is a compelling character. A social misfit who is fiercely intelligent and sexy. Her partner Mikael Blomkvist is also back and he is at the heart of the story.

There are problems with this book. Salander disappears for about a third of it and some of the supporting characters are given very little time to develop.

Despite a couple of small faults The Girl Who Played With Fire is an excellent read. Its not quite as good as the first book but its still good enough to make you want to read the third instalment. This trilogy is fast becoming a sensation.

First of all - I loved the first book, it was a fantastic read with a great couple of characters and an intriguing mystery at the heart of it.
Now the follow up where Lisbeth takes central stage - and boy does she - saving lives in a tornado, beating up hells angel equivalents with hitherto unknown boxing skills, not to mention her super power of a photographic memory, unfortunately, it seems as though the author fell in love with his main character and as such made her some kind of indestructible super woman who can even survive a massive head trauma from a bullet in the head enough to dig herself out of a grave. It smacks of the problem I felt Thomas Harris ran into with Hannibal Lecter - he became too obsessed with them to the point of them being able to overcome absolutely anything at the expense of common sense! Anyway, not as good as the first, not read the 3rd yet.

A really good second novel to the Triology. Struggled a little with the first book but this was well worth reading. A plot which leaves us all guessing until the very end and an excellent twist, Larson receives a lot of praise for this work and this novel is proof that all the praise is justified. The best book in the Triology in my view.

A great read and worth reading if you have read the first book. Certainly this book is better than the first and hopefully the conclusion will be even better.
