Ok I assumed I would like this because I liked the Twilight series.

This could have been written by someone else. I found it hard to read, slow and very very strange. Sorry.

considering twilight was such a hit i thought this might be as good but to be honest i read the twilight books after i watched the films and they were terrible the films were better so i thought i would give this ago because apparently it was aimed at adults and the story sounded interesting but no it was boring i actually skipped pages i might go and see the film but probably not ill more than likley watch it on dvd but i doubt ill be in a rush to buy it and i know i shouldnt compare it to twilight as its a totally different concept but when you have such success as meyer did with previous books people are always going to compare and i cant help it

  Surprisingly good.

I was a bit hesitant before buying this book because of the Twilight Sage, which was, in my opinion, pretty poor. However this book could not be more different or more brilliant! A fantastic read with a very good plot line. Although some people have told me they found the first third of the book a bit boring I thought it was all really good.
Don't be put off by the author and ignore any preconceptions you might have.

  Unputadownable after a slow start

After persevering with the first few chapters i was intrigued to see where Mel's efforts and beliefs in humanity got her. Great descriptive writing, this book had me and my friend trying to guess where they would shot the upcoming movie or who could play the characters. Can't wait for the sequel/film. Hope Stephanie Meyer keeps writing such amazing stuff.

  Better Than Twilight

I have read the Twilight Saga numerous times and have never been overwhelmed mostly due to the plot and Bella's character. However, The Host is different in some respects, there is less romance, which is good from my point of view and i feel that the plot is more grippng. I think this book is the best out of Meyer's lot

  Really good!

This book is well structured.
It is heart stoping at the thought of a person who eveolves into a love she just can't have but another she can
It makes you feel it every step of the way on family feelings to lust feelings.
It really pulls on your heart strings and you imagination to view things in a different light.
It took me a whille t decide to come out of my Twilight phase and discover new things but when i did. Damn, it was good!!!!
I owuld recommend this to anyone who like a sorry with a rel and unconitional love so close they are techinicaly in the same body!

  Escaped the Twilight Saga rut

It took me a long time to overcome my loathing for the Twilight saga in order to pick up this book. I don't regret it. Meyer hasn't gotten too stuck in Twilight, and managed to produce something very different. I enjoyed the scientific element along with the Wuthering Heights- like love triangle between Melanie and Ian and Jared. A believable sci-fi.

  slow but amazing

At first i thought it was going to be a disapointing book as it was very slow to get into, but after persevering for the first 4 chapters i couldn't put this book down. I loved it so much and i like how you can see the relationship between Melanie & Ian develope. Read if you liked: twilight, Vampire diaries or Need.

Absolutely amazing, well worth a read. Nothing at all like twilight. It's written so well and it'll have you laughing and crying so hard! As soon as you get into it it's impossible to put down! Not good when you should be doing homework! And for Petes sake, do not start reading this when you have exams coming up, because you will get NO work done!!
Amazing story and concept, thought it a bit strange to start but very interesting. You'll cry at the end, just because you've finished the book and there's no more Host to read :(

Most interesting book I've ever read!!

Such an interesting read! 'The Host' forces you to search for your moral standing on complex issues that you will never before have considered. It's also 100% unputdownable and has caused me a few late nights! It's heartbreaking, thought-provoking, sexy, and totally original. I highly recommend it!
