After enjoying Stephanie Meyer's writing style in the Twilight serious, I thought I'd give The Host a try.
I loved the story and thought that it was really original and interesting!
So many twists and turns that it's easy to read again.

This book was really different from Stephenie's "Twilight Saga",I also agree it was a bit slow to start with, but once you get going it's totally absorbing. I would recommend this book, it's different and, i've heard they may be making it into a film, I hope they do it would make a great film !!

This book is fantastic i found the very beginning abit boring maybe about 4 or 5 chapters but if you can stick them out the book gets so much better, i read this in egypt and couldnt put it down. Through the book there is a love triangle and and a ending that makes you say oh my god i would recommend it to anyone

I agree with the other reviews, the first two chapters I found very confusing and at one point didnt think I could continue reading the book but when I persevered I was really surprised. I couldnt put it down either and read it in about 4 days. The story is excellent and as for the ending well you will have to read it for yourself to find out

  loveed it x

Almost better than the twilight saga!

After reading the twilight saga, I was sceptical that this book would be any good- either a let down or too similar to twilight. However I found this book almost better than twilight. It takes a while to get into as very little is explained in the beginning but it doesnt take too long to get really interesting. The great thing about Stephanie meyers writing is that she lets little bits of information out at a time, so even though at the beginning you may not understand, a bit later the story line becomes quite clever and u realise whats been goin on. I read this book in 3 days, I cudnt put it down and I think it would be a gr8 book to adapt into a film. I feel this book had a lot more imagination than the twilight saga, as there are so many similar vampire storys out at the moment. If u enjoyed twilight than definitely read this, u might prefer it and dont be put off by the confusing beginning as it all becomes clear quite quickly. Overall i found this book one of the best iv read recently and really enjoyed the suspense and drama, afterall there is nothing worse than a book thats spends ages describing things but has a rubbish and boring plot line. If u do enjoy this book, u may want to try The Handmaids Tale by Margaret attwood as it is similar. Brilliant book, a must read, can't wait until Stephanie Meyer writes another book!

This is a definite read, I have to say the first few chapters can be a bit confusing, but don't let this stop you from reading the rest, you got to stick with it and all will become clear! It really gets into it's stride. A gripping story that you can't stop reading it.

Like a lot have people have said - It's a Sci-Fi for people who don't do Sci-Fi.

one of the best books I have read in a long time

I loved the twilight saga and thought this would not be as good but I loved it. The first couple of chapters are a little confusing and takes a while to get used to the strange names but once you are past that the book is brilliant. I could never stop and put the book down when a chapter finished I had to know what happened next. loved the characters and the detail of everyone. Was gutted when I finished the book as I didn't want it to end. Would totally recommend this to anyone who likes scf-fi

bought it for my daughter as we have both been avid readers of the twilight saga. took me a couple of chapters to get into the book but once i had i couldn't put it down. it took me a day to read and i didn't even realise i was crying two chapters from the end until i soaked my top. so sad yet so happy. what a a truly fantastic vivid imagination stephanie meyer has. can't wait till her next book........
