4.5 A fan of twilight - not me ! rdaneel | 16/07/2009 | See all rdaneel's reviews (6) My wife loved Twilight, my American penfriend loved Twilight, everyone loved Twilight - but not me, I couldn't get past the first few pages and resorted to listening to the audio book it bored me so much ! So you can imagine my trepidation on hearing that Stephanie Meyer had written a new novel. But, hey, I thought, this sounds like real science fiction. Perhaps she can string a story together and actually get the first person narrative to be interesting this time. Perhaps she can tell a story and not use twice the amount of words that are actually needed. So I bought the book, mostly for my wife as a gift ,but couldn't resist taking a peak at the first few pages.....I am so glad I did.Wow, she has really pulled it off ! A truly original, heartwarming (yes , I know a yucky description), romance, adventure story. A love triangle with three minds and two bodies or is it a love quadrangle with three bodies and four minds ? ! And wait for it , yes, a great science fiction story. Believable characters with believable emotions in a believable Invasion of the Body Snatchers "utopian" near future.I loved this book and couldn''t put it down. My wife cried at the end.And still I miss reading about "Wanda".Read this book at your peril - 'cos you'll be so sad when you finish it.
