Having so eagerly awaited the third in the Millenium Trilogy I was somewhat disappointed. The book is over 600 pages and a lot of that was taken up with page after page of (in my opinion) unneccesary history and descriptions of the inner workings of the equivelant to our MI5 , plus the vast cast of charecters are hard to remember ( not made any easier due to the swedish names!!)
That said it really is unmissable if you have read the previous 2, it cleverly reaches it's climax and one can't help but be delighted that our Heroine finally comes out on top. Very sad it's the last one too.

Great finish to the trilogy, i would not say any of the history ect is hard going as the other reviewer does. just adds to the ever increasingly interesting plot! i'm gutted its the final book.

The Third and the final book of the Millennium Series, an excellent ending to the trilogy. I loved how it was written in full details but still the author manages to tie them all together in a very clever manner. The book started precisely where it ended in the second book. I love the part wherein father and daughter/archenemies- Lisbeth and Zalachenko stayed in the same hospital recuperating from their injuries after their encounter with only a room between to serve as a shield to protect them from each other! I actually felt helpless as what Lisbeth felt.

More characters to deal with though but just keep glued to it and don't even attempt to jump or skim pages or you'll regret it. The book is not perfect; I noticed a lot of repetition (during the trial scene) that might make some readers feel impatient. I think that I will miss Lisbeth, Mikael, Berger, Palmgreen and the rest of Millennium staff.

For I know I won't be reading anymore of their characters in books to come. I finished this book with some sadness, sadness at Larsson's early death which means that there won't be any further instalments in this series.

A story of corruption, friendship, love and relationships, murder, espionage. An excellent read highly

Top 10 Books Reviewer

I am a big fan of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy and completely enjoyed the first two books. The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest is the third book and although still a good read I felt it wasn't quite as good as Dragon Tattoo or Played With Fire.

The main problem with Hornets Nest is that Larsson spends a lot of time going into details which bog down the story. The series strongest character Lisbeth Salander is reduced to a supporting role which doesn't help either.

That said Hornets Nest is still an enjoyable read and a good solid ending to the series. I rate Larsson's Millenium books very highly, I think they are modern classics even if the 3rd part was slightly lacking.
