An historical epic in the vein of Bernard Cornwell and Conn Iggulden

 It's a Robin Hood story!

Bought this book along with the sequel together. I didn't really expect to enjoy it having read lots of historical novels. this one is particularly good! It shatters the 'men in tights' view of Robin; this makes him far more beleivable.

The best book I have ever read!!!

My sister recomended this book and I really thought I wouldn't enjoy it, when I read the first page I couldn't put it down, it's absolutely gripping, thrilling and non stop action. A fantastic read!!!

The best book i have EVER! read. It was so graphic and real. The writer Angus Donald is something special, i heard he is bringing out a sequel called Holly Land i think, i will be totally buying that to. Great book you will not be disappointed.

After reading lots of historical fiction I was cautious about yet another new entry into the market. However, I was plesantly surprised with this and very much in the iggulden style - easy read with a good story with sufficient detail although not overkill you can get with some like long drawn out battles. Personally I also liked the fact that it followed the films and the heart of the story we have all grown up with about Robin Hood without trying to deviate or be too clever. highly recommend

Fantastic book with everything you could possibly want in a great read. The characters are all superb and the plot is original and epic, full of twist and turns which keep you wanting to turn to the next page. Donald is a fantastic writer and I cannot wait for the next installment of the series, 'Crusader'. Brilliant!
