When I was first given this cookbook as a gift I have to admit that I wasn't immediately impressed. On first flicking through the pages I thought the food looked great and interesting but that utlimately it was going to be one of those cookbooks that looks nice but never gets used.

A year later though I've revisted this cookbook and I have to say that I have changed my mind completely. Maybe it's me but it took me a wee while to get into it but there are some great recipes in here that are straightforward to follow, taste great and make a change from the usual Italian dishes that I tend to fall back on.

For me it's one of those cookbooks that you really have to be in the mood for so I tend to use it for planned meals rather than coming up with ideas for dishes to make of an evening.

I've got all Jamie Oliver's Cookbooks and there's no denying that his recipes really do work.

  THE cookbook to own

Out of all the cookbooks I have ever owned - this one must be the best! - Not only are the recipes easy to follow and interesting - but the food itself is out of this world! I can honestly say i have never used a cookbook so much! The food is so different to anything i have ever tasted before and the ideas really imaginative. A must have in your kitchen,

  Consider it sold!

Jamies America was a real lesson of a TV series, dispelling the myths about American food and uncovering many things that I'm sure even most Americans weren't aware of concerning thier culinary heritage.
The sheer scale of diversity across thier land is super impressive!
I was bought this book for Christmas and it is as good as the series and did it justice, it's a colourful, very well illustrated, high quality, useful book and a great read! Jamie strikes again!

Jamie just knows how to do it!

I knew Jamie would have a great way of showing the best bits and pieces of American food, so I just had to get this book. It was as I expected, you just can't get dissapointed with him. His smooth and delightful ways of showing how he makes everything, have made me fan!
