I've watched all 5 series now, and this is honestly one of the few TV series i've seen which has nearly every episode be enjoyable to watch. As a Christian too, I love the demon/Angel thing and find it amazing to see their perspective and take on it.
Its also one of the few shows which really pulls you into the characters and makes you care about them, after everything that theyve been through.
But one warning is that you will have to have seen the first four seasons to truly know what is going on, and feel a connection to the story. Supernatural is a very heavy, story driven show and it requires pria watching.
I had waited a long time to watch season 5 and had missed it all on TV again, as per usual it was aired on an obscure tv channel on Sky and not advertised.
I fail to understand why Supernatural has never been shown by a massive channel like 4, SyFy or SkyOne. Its one of the best shows on TV and on the same level as Lost.
But the wait was worth it, and I spent an entire week watching all the episodes one after another. The action, drama and comedy is still all there and you will laugh at watching an Angel drunk!
The quality on the Blu-Ray is great to cut that short.
I only really have a couple of issues with Season5, but not enough to loose a star. It didnt feel like we were given enough chance to hear Lucifers side of the story and his motivations about betraying God, which is something I find intriguing as a Christian.
I also felt the final episode was a major anti-climax. I was expecting a mjor, CGI filled, battle against the two most powerful Angels ever created. Swords clashing and wings flung open!
Yet we don't get that. The final episode is very heart felt and was orginally intended as the last ever one (until a season 6 was started), and you can sense that in the way its done.
But there wasn't enough, if any, fighting for my liking. No real show-down between the two brothers (angelic brothers). It was mainly a lot of shouting, scrabling and arguing and nothing else.
But despite that... very much one for any supernatural fan.
