 Genius Pixar Movie

Do not listen to the previous review (The reviewer gives 5 stars to Scary Movie 4) if you have a heart this movie will touch it in a way few animations can , it is a touching , funny, brave film , it may make you weep but will make you laugh and feel joy...isn't that what all great films do?

 UP. UP. And away...

Simply put, this film has one of the best opening sequences in the last 10 years of movie history.
It will drag you through a plethora of emotions and will stay put in your head loooong after you switch on the kettle the following morning.
It is a charming little film about following ones dreams and never giving up on them no matter what happens.

Pixar have made an extremely funny yet sad adventure for all ages.
Watch it regardless of what age you are.

I have to say I was apprehensive about this film from the start, I dont know why but something about me just didnt want to watch it. But my girlfriend talked to me into it one night, so I just had to.

And I must say, I dont know what I was holding back on.

This is one of the best films I have seen all year, brilliantly put together with a great storyline fantastic animation and just general humour the whole way through.

It had me in fits of laughter. My Girlfriend in tears at several points. And when the film looks like its about to end there is that little bit more to give you that all needed extra. Thoroughly enjoyable 5/5 Recommend for all the Family!

A beautiful, humble tale. Beware of tears :)

This movie deserves every one of the 5 stars that it has been awarded by me simply because it is the perfect Pixar movie. By this I mean that it appeals just as much to adults as it does to children, meaning the whole family can sit down and watch.

The storyline is beautiful. About a small child who is fascinated by the exploring feats of Charles Muntz and dreams of becoming an explorer. He clearly doesn't have many friends and bumps into a young girl with a similar fascination for exploring. Then you get treated to something which left me (a grown man) in floods of tears. A quick 2minute overview of his perfect life with this women, their marriage, her miscarriage then her death. It is so unbelievably sad and although not as emotional for children, it still shows how unlucky this man has been.

So, with an adventure scrap book left behind by his wife, he has the idea of flying to the dream place where him and his wife (Ellie) dreamt of retiring and getting away from angry developers who want to level his house.... By making his house fly with 1000's of helium balloons. It turns out a young scout kid who has been 'bothering' him is on his porch at the time and a huge adventure ensues.

Filled with your typical comical obscure animal type creatures along with an invention that allows dogs to talk, you will be filled with excitement about whats going to happen next. Every time Carl opens Ellie's adventure book you will be flooded with the tragic memories and be set to tears again.

It is a heartwarming story filled with unfortunate tragedy but then with a huge sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

Buy it and sit down with you kids to watch it. You will all have different points to relate to but I warn you, keep the tissues handy because within the first 10 minutes you will be in tears :).

The Blu-ray picture quality looks absolutely incredible too, which I would never have doubted with Pixar as all their Blu-ray animations are well executed. One part to note is just how incredible and realistic the 1000's of balloons look that make the house fly. As the house takes off in the middle of the city, it looks almost as though you can reach out and grab them.

Incredible story and incredible picture in HD :).

5/5

 Truly a {MOVING} house

Hello all there. It's certainly been a long while since I've been moved by a picture, let alone an animated one!

Most of you already know that the first part of this superb 10th attempt by PIXAR is truly up there with the very best. And I do agree with what's been written about it: it is the best PIXAR sequence as yet. Am 31 years of age, during that part didn't feel like it...

I've also read about the 3D added to the film that robs attention from the story itself, I don't really see it that way, I just thought that 3D in general is still a long way to go. I don't like the dark colors that it produces. The funny specs are way to dark when watching a PIXAR film.

There are plenty of BEST FUNNY BITS, RUSSELL, all the MUTTS sequences, well you need to choose your fave.

However you choose to watch this film, even if its in Black and White (the opening is like that), you will be MOVED.
