Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) is a cocky, rookie race car. Speeding on his way to a big race, he crashes into Radiator Springs, destroying lots of the inhabitants' belongings!

In order to make up for what he did, the raucous roadster is sentenced to community service. Though he will do anything to get away from the work, McQueen must learn to respect and bond with the Radiator Springs inhabitants in order to get out of the town and back on the racetrack...

After taking moviegoers magically into the realm of toys, bugs, monsters, fish, and superheroes, the masterful storytellers and technical wizards at Pixar Animation Studios (The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc.), and Academy Award-winning director John Lasseter (Toy Story, A Bug's Life), hit the road with a fast-paced comedy adventure set inside the world of cars. Fuelled with plenty of humour, action, heartfelt drama and amazing new technical feats, Cars is a high octane delight for moviegoers of all ages.

Well i got this from America and holy moly its just incredible on blu-ray. It was great on dvd but my god on blu ray you just want to reach out and touch it to see is it real. Some of the cars have effects like reflections and beautiful lights dance off them. All Disney-Pixar films seem to be top notch with this been no exception. Have to say its a must for any collection.

 Fantastic way to show off

I also bought the US Version of this title (which is region A,B & C playable) - and it is absolutely fantastic. the overall quality of the visuals (even at 720p) is astounding and you forget that the backdrops are computer generated. The story is good for the boys and may appeal to girls as well - having the whole family around then it's an all round fun one to watch. As with some blu-ray discs there is a small wait whilst the 'Loading ...' screen gets done, but this is fairly short compared to say 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' which takes a while. I've given this 5 stars, although really I would give it 4.5 just because it's not as universally appealing as other Disney family movies.

Top 100 Books Reviewer

I had the ordinary version of this and I got bored watching it, it is afterall a kids film - however everyone in the press raved about how good the pure digital transfer was on Blu-Ray. I bowed to peer pressure and got a copy from Play.com and fired up the Projector.

What a revelation, the cars come up 'super-glossy' and the colours are sensational. You are left completely in awe of the animators art and the technical skill and time that was invested in this picture. Having now watched the film all the way through the story is better than I'd hoped for.

This is an easy 'must buy' for your collection. you can thank me all later. 'Smug Stars' 5/5 for showing off to your friends , Story Stars 4/5.

Now is Finding Nemo out on Blu-Ray yet?

 This is the reason..

The reason i picked blu ray was that i know later on that disney/pixar would release there films on to blu ray, And this is why cars was not upto the par of Monster inc or Finding nemo but it is visually stunning on DVD it will be mind blowing on Blu ray, I cant wait for Pixar to release There other titles onto Blu ray, go blu ray!
