In Pixar's new animated-adventure, Ratatouille, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely - and certainly unwanted - visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

Remy finds himself torn between his calling and passion in life or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.

You really must have this film regardless of age you will love the story, the really cute rats and and the wicked attention to detail, a simply wonderful piece of cinema.

 Brilliant.

Ratatouille is fantastic. It's probably the best animation I've seen since Toy Story or Shrek. Funny, concise and brilliant for all ages. I'm 18 and thought was great and my age group is probably one of the hardest to appeal to. It's clever and makes some very brillaint, yet subtle observations on modern life... On Blu-ray especially, Ratatouille is fantastic...

 Delicious

Another delicious concoction from the ever-reliable Pixar, this time making a highly successful fist out of a rather dodgy story premise - a rat who yearns to be a leading Parisian chef. Once you get past the fact that there's a rodent loose in the kitchen, this turns out to be a beguiling combination of strong characterisation, and stunning production design, even though it is perhaps a little soft on the all-out mad laughs. Once again, it's Pixar's attention to gorgeous detail that makes it all such a delight.

Needless to say, it looks astounding on Blu-ray too, but then Pixar does benchmark work in this format.

Pixar excellence is back on the menu!

The Pixar team are back on top form! After the disappointingly formulaic and cliched Cars, Brad Bird has come to the rescue with a movie worthy of his excellent Incredibles. It may not have car chases or superhero battles, but this gentle and heartfelt tale has all the charm of Toy Story & Nemo, not to mention the best of Disney. An original story with characters you really care about on a rollercoaster journey. Pixars animation is now so amazing the detail is photorealistic in many scenes: only the deliberately characatured faces give away that this is an animated movie.

So when this level of digital excellence is shown on hi definition- you realise just why you decided to get a blu ray player. It's so superb its almost 3d, just look at the fur on Remy and his rat companions. The lighting and definition is just staggering.

Sublime presentation of a new Pixar classic.

Magnifique!
