Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption- a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

Featuring an incredible cast who give truly outstanding performances including: Hugh Jackman, Oscar winner Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, and Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. Filmed by the visionary Academy-Award Director of The King's Speech, Tom Hooper.

I must say first that I am already a Les Mis-fan. So it could be that I am colored. But I must say this movie is truly fantastic. We all know the story but see Les Mis on stage and see it like this is another experience.

That the actors sing live is giving the movie a real boost and other feeling than any other musical movie I have seen.

This is a must buy movie. Prepare yourself to laugh and cry...

I do not live until today!

This film is truly amazing. i would give it 10 stars if i could. Hugh jack man gives the performance of his life no one could have played the role any better. as its sung live by the hole cast you can really feel the passion and emotion they feel. alone Russell crow is not as bad as a lot of people say. i found him to be very good. the only real week ness was helena carter who seems to play the same character she allways plays and wiht a no excestanct singing voice. JUST BUY THIS AND YOU WILL WATCH AND LOVE IT OVER AND OVER

Looking so much to watching this a real big fan of this musical. The film was terrible, dark needed more light on most of the sets, Russell Crowe appalling singing, totally ruined the entire film, shocking

This isn't usually my type of film, so I wasn't expecting to be blown away. But I was. I found myself smiling, laughing and dare I say it, even slightly teary during this remarkable film. It honestly couldn't be any better. The story, the music, the casting, the costumes... all perfect.

Hugh Jackman and Samantha Barks were the standouts for me, closely followed by Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen! But overall the whole cast were incredible (yes, even Russel Crowe, who's not vocally great, but it's hard to imagine anyone else playing that role).

The Blu-Ray picture and sound are fantastic, so make the purchase, sit back, turn your speakers up to full volume and enjoy this incredible masterpiece. You wont be disappointed.

Not so much Les Mis as Les Happy!

Top 100 Music Reviewer

As a 42 year old man, i was dragged to the cinema to watch this musical along with most other fellas of the same age and upwards. What surprised me was the way the movie dragged you in from the first scene kept you ther for the duration. Incredible set pieces, amazing cast and the emotion that Anne Hathaway wrung out of I Dreamed a Dream was simply amazing. Hugh Jackman played the role that was almost tailor made for him on the screen and even ended up looking like Bon Scott of ACDC towards the end. A true achievement!!! So good i watched it a second time in the cinema, this time with my 14 year daughter which proved it appealled to all audiences. A true movie spectacle
