Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci star in Director Martin Scorsese's riveting look at how blind ambition, white-hot passion and 24-carat greed toppled an empire. Las Vegas in 1973 is the setting for this fact-based story about the Mob's multi-million dollar casino operation - where fortunes and lives were made and lost with a roll of the dice...

For once being compared to a Classic movie like Goodfellas has had a detrimental effect on a movie.
And that movie is CASINO, same Director, Same 2 Leads, people just seem to thing its a rehash of Goodfellas, when its so much more than that.
Even if it was or is a sequel of sorts to Goodfellas whats so wrong with that considering every other movie is a sequel to something anyway.
Anyway I regress, back to the movie itself. It is one of the most confiedent and Slickest movies made by Scorsese, he is on Top Form.
He is almost Showboating at times, with the Dazzling Visuals, Acute Camera Angles, Audacious Tracking Shots, Stunning Wardrobe, Top Notch Cinematography and Awesome Soundtrack to boot. From the Much acclaimed opening credits sequence to the very last scene. And all the memrobale scenes in between.
The Performances by De Niro and Sharon Stone are Excellent. Joe Pesci is good but repetitive.
Stone is a revelation in what was a breakout role for her as a serious actress.
But this is De Niro show all the way, and one of his last Truly Great Performances that his reputation is built on.
Its been 15 Years since Scorsese and De Niro worked on this movie and they have not worked together since, and in my opinion, De Niro has in the interim tarnished his once Legendary reputation by appearing in any old nonsense.
Thats why watching him in CASINO is such a joy, he gives one of those Cold, Measured, Cool performances without actually doing much except looking Dapper all the way through.
He is on screen for pretty much the whole 3 hours and does not put a foot wrong. A truly Mesmerising and Majestic performance.
Too good for the Oscars as he dint even get a nomination.
A Classic Gangster Movie that Well and Truly Stand Tall on it Own.

 Must Have

For those that haven't seen the film well I'll simply say that it is a stunning piece of work.

However, I reckon most people will want to know about the quality of the Blu-Ray transfer and if it's worth getting. The answer is simply, yes, get it. The transfer is beautifully done. You will not regret adding this to your collection even if you own it on DVD.

Very impressed with the transfer to blu ray

Excellent film, was a joy to watch again, but this time in full hi def glory!

I was really taken back by how clean and crsip the picture was, colours were vibrant and you would think this film was made in the last 3 years.

The sound is great too and i really do recommend that if you like this film, to get it on blu ray, as you will not be dissapointed by what you see.

 Just great.

CASINO ON BLU-RAY - JUST SUPERB

This is a fantastic film with a brilliant story & excellent cast if you like gangster films then this is a must for the blu-ray collection.

The transfer to blu-ray is top class the picture quality is clear & sharp & the colours are rich and deep which makes such a great film stand out.

The sound quality is very good dts 5.1 on my home cinema system so overall its a brilliant transfer it is such a shame that all modern films are'nt this good.

The extras are also good interviews with the cast, deleted scenes,& much more.

THE BEST SCENE OF THE FILM IS THE CORNFIELDS SAY NO MORE... ENJOY
