Directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Traffic), Che: Part One stars Benicio Del Toro (The Usual Suspects, 21 Grams) in a career-defining role that won him the Best Actor award at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

Partly based on his own memoirs (Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War), Che: Part One follows Ernesto Che Guevara's transformation from humble physician to military leader during the Cuban Revolution, depicting his eventual overthrowing of the repressive Batista regime. Meticulously researched and containing intense and realistic depictions of guerrilla warfare, this is a captivating portrait of one of the most controversial figures of the Twentieth Century. An astounding and moving story of one man's belief and the events that would eventually shape him into becoming a legendary symbol of rebellion and hope.

 Simply fantastic

One of the most engrossing and beautifully made films of the last decade, if not ever.
Del Torro is superb, one of the finest and most convincing performances I have ever seen.

This Movie is worth it's weight in gold, if you have the money, buy it, keep it cherish it. I don't want to detract from the brilliant second part of this film, but if you only have the time and money for one, then 'Part One' is the one to go for (excessive use of the word one, sorry) but please do see two, too, to finish of one of the most fascinating stories of our times.

 Outstanding

I cannot being to describe the quality of this film. The journey you travel with Che and the roots of the revolution right up until they secure victory over the Batista regime.

Anyone who has been to Cuba can appreciate how time appears to have stood still since Castro took power. The town scenes toward the end take you back there in an instant.

Especially interesting are the more political scenes in the US, which are post revolution, help tie the action back to the cause and the brilliant narration from Del Torro make this not only one of the best films in recent years but one of the best pieces of cinema you will witness.

Del Torro doesn't just play Che, he becomes Che.

In a word, outstanding
