A soaring, action-packed journey of heroism and sacrifice as one crusading journalist desperately fights to uncover the horrors buried within the infamous Nazi siege of Leningrad in the savage winter of 1941.

An epic story is inspired by true events, featuring an acclaimed, award-winning cast, this is the tale of the tragedy that befell Leningrad: at over 800 days, it was one of the longest and most destructive sieges in history.

not like any other war film

not like any other, its adaptation of a true story is amazing, its hard to get into at first but pays off in the end. Its not got hollywood anywhere in it, theres explosions but not over the top all the time. The blu ray version is perfect for sound quality.

Good but Voiceover spoils Mira Sorvino's performance

The actual proper original title of this movie is simply Leningrad. Why could they not have just left it alone? It depicts the hardship of Leningrad at the time quite accurately. My main disappointment with this movie was that Mira Sorvino'a voice was dubbed by a British Voiceover actress - and this was done in an obvious way, thus ruining the actress's performance. It would have been better had they just gotten an english actress in the first place. Apart from that it was a credible portrayal of the time.
